OBTAINING DERBYSHIRE WILLS 1858 TO 1928

You can also find Michael Spencers huge Database of Derbshire Wills, Probate & Inventories dated from 1858 to 1928 which is available via John Palmers Wirksworth Website.

Michael also offers a Derbyshire wills service for the above dated wills. If you would like Michael to get a Derbyshire will for you, you should check through the wills database & get the basic information of the will you want & then e-mail Michael and ask about his current charges.  However Michael says I am prepared to check the Will and give various details in the hope of it being definitely identified before it is ordered, and give a total cost in the currency of the country the person is writing from, and they can be paid for - in the currency of the country they are living in. (I can only do this if they tell me where in the world they want the Will sending, so it is important, a simple USA, NZ, AUS or CAN will do). I also have the Administrations from 1858-1870 listed and currently growing. These Admins, I can also obtain; as they cannot be copied they have to be transcribed and I transcribe the total Administraion. Furthermore because I visit the DRO virtually every day, I am happy to make photocopies of register entries (if anyone needs them) or maybe signatures from marriages. I am also prepared to do limited research at the DRO.

If youre unable to e-mail Michael - you should write to: M.Spencer 9 Fairholmes Matlock, Derbyshire England .... Currently Michael is the cheapest way of acquiring photocopies of wills if youre unable to get to Derbyshire yourself.
