Edward FLETCHER of Ripley

Acted as secretary to the Ripley Hampden club on its first established & introduced George Burrows. [George Burrows] [George Anthony]

Addressed the members of the club upon the abuses committed by Government in the use of the public money. [George Burrows] [George Anthony]

(Helens comment: In the original document there are two entries for Edward Fletcher, but I personally think they are for the same person, though I have listed each individually)

Edward FLETCHER of Ripley

Secretary to the Ripley Hampden club &c and introduced George Burrows into the club room. [George Burrows]

Asked Burrows on his being introduced into the club room whether he was convinced of the necessity of a reform in parliament & if he would use every legal means to bring it about. [George Burrows]

Jesse FLETCHER of Pentrich

Gave James Weightman, Charles Booth & Alexander Johnson a pike which A. Booth saw them grinding. [A. Booth]

On Saturday the 7th June he came out of the White Lion in Ripley & told George Burrows that a man was come from Nottingham to Pentrich & that the rout was come & there would be a rising on the Tuesday or Wednesday following. [Geo Burrows]

Sampson FLETCHER of Pentrich; Blacksmith

Gave Alexander Johnson of Pentrich a pike. [A. Booth]

Samuel FLETCHER of Pentrich Mill; Miller

George Weightman & several other of the insurgents party went to his house on the Monday night (June 9th) where they demanded & took a gun with them as well as the servant man. [Joseph Wilkinson] [Samuel Fletcher] [H. Hole] [J. Cartledge]

Went to Mrs. Hepworths on Monday night, soon after the man was shot & found Daniel Massey sitting in a chair opposite the body who said he had to do with the murder as he was coming in his way from Crich. [J. Fletcher]

George FROST of Butterley

Was forced at Butterley to join the insurgents by Edward Turner who threatened to blow his brains out if he did not get along. [Charles Walters]

Thomas GAUNT of Wingfield

Was at the murder at Hepworths. [Thomas Turner]

Josiah GODBER of Pentrich; Collier/Labourer

George Burrows stayed at his house all Monday night June 9th. Went with the first party who came from Butterley  George Burrows sharpened his sword upon his hearthstone. [George Burrows]

Was seen with William Slan alias Hardwick/ who had a gun, John Wright, George Burrows & William Anthony on Tuesday morning June 10th about 8 o�clock  near the Red Lion, Ripley. [Samuel Brown] [William young] [Thomas Cresswell] [D. W. Stafford] [Samuel Blount] [W. Rawson]

Robert GODBER of Ripley; Labourer

Was with the insurgents in their march on Tuesday morning early from Butterley for Codnor & Kimberley  armed with a gun. [Thomas Hardy]

Thomas GOOSE of Alfreton

Was at the first meeting at Suttons Asherfield barn.

Present at this meeting A. Booth - A man from Leicester, Thomas & John Brown, George & Joseph Weightman, John Wyld, James Barnes of Swanwick, Edward Haslam of the same place & William Smith of Ripley. [A. Booth]

Isaac GREGORY of Ripley; Blacksmith

Was with the mob at Greenwich & had a gun with him  This was about 8 o�clock Tuesday morning the 10th June. [Mary Hughes]

Was armed with a gun at Ripley about half past 7 o�clock on Tuesday morning & marched on towards Nottingham with several other persons in arms as if they were following the rebels to join them. [J. Cresswell] [D. W. Stafford] [John Alkins] [Joseph Slack]

He loaded his gun with two bullets.

Passed through Anthony Stanleys yard on the road towards Nottingham with a gun on his shoulder on Tuesday morning June 10th. [Anthony Stanley]
