Edward HALL of Swanwick

Was at Codnor with the party who had been at Jennings of Butterley Park (but without arms as Thomas Jennings believes) [Thomas Jennings]

Elijah HALL of South Wingfield Park

Joseph HALL of Swanwick; Cordwainer

Was at Codnor &c with the party who had been at Butterley Park, but without gun or pike as Thomas Jennings believes. [Thomas Jennings] [Thomas Hardy]

Was apprehended at Langley Mill with a gun & refused to deliver it up saying he had bought it A gun, lock & ball cartridges found in his pocket by Lt. Rolleston Esquire. [Daniel King a private 15th Hussars] [Matthew Mills 15th Hussars] [Edward Robinson]

William HALL of Swanwick

Was at Codnor, Butterley Park &c with the party who forced Thomas Jennings of Butterley Park to join them (but without gun or pike as Jennings believes) [Thomas Jennings]

James HARDWICK

The Insurgents proceeded to his house from the barn near Wingfield where they assembled on Monday evening & took a gun. [T. Turner] [W. Turner] [W. Jennings]

William HARDWICK of Pentrich: Miner

Was seen near the Red Lion Inn in Ripley about 8 o�clock on Tuesday morning with a gun. [Samuel Brown] [Thomas Cresswell] [D.W. Stafford] [John Alkin]

He was apprehended at Eastwood on Tuesday morning by John Henry Loft a cornet in the 15th Hussars (Not armed at the time) [J.H. Loft]

William HARDY of Aldercar

Was amongst the mob at Eastwood who turned William Booth back. [W. Booth]

Joseph HARRIS

Marched on Tuesday morning with William Smith, George Burrows & others for Langley Mill [G. Burrows] [Joseph Slack] [Anthony Stanley] [John Alkin] [John Hughes]

Edward HASLAM of Swanwick; FWK

Was at the first meeting at Suttons Asherfield Barn. [A. Booth]

Was appointed secret committee man with James Baines for Swanwick & took an active part in the debates &c. [A. Booth]

Seconded the motion for a report as to the number of arms in their respective parishes & from whence any ammunition might be taken which was unanimously agreed to, by the meeting. [A. Booth]

Was at the 5th meeting at the Asherfield Barn which was held the last day of May or the beginning of June & was a strong meeting. The business was opened by Thomas Bacon who stated that the County was to rise & commence business at the same time which would be on Monday night following, June 9th. That the large town would rise about midnight and seize the depots of arms ammunition &c within their own towns and attacking the barracks. [A. Booth]

Was at the 6th meeting (5th June) when the Nottingham Man attended and explained the plan of operations and the time when the rising was to take place. [A. Booth]

About 8 o�clock on Monday night (June 9th) he went to Mr. Radfords of Swanwick and said they were going to Nottingham & that they were all going to rise. [William Radford]

Was with the indurgents at Stephen Tissington�s the French Horn at Codnor between 4 & 5 o�clock on Tuesday when they rushed into the house, and demanded liquor to be filled. [Tissington]

Mr. HEPWORTH of South Wingfield Park: Farmer

A gun was demanded & taken from his house about 12 o�clock in the night of Monday the 9th June & his servant Robert Walters was killed by a pistol or gun shot fired at the window by an unknown hand�. [W. Hepworth]

Was with the mob & carried a pike and afterwards a gun. [H. Hole]

John HOLMES of Nottingham (Revolutionary)

It was understood that he had been with Thomas Bacon to Sheffield & other places. [A. Booth]

James HOPKINSON

Fetched Joseph Wilkinson of Wingfield Park from his house about half past 10 o�clock on Monday night June 9th. He was accompanied by James taylor, Miles Bacon, Samuel Simpson, George Weightman of Pentrich, Abraham James, Samuel James, Henry Taylor and some others who said that he (Wilkinson) must either go with them or they would force him to go. Most of them were armed with pikes & they said more men were coming from Manchester &Sheffield & that it would be better for him to go with them that night than be forced to go in the morning. [J. Wilkinson]

John HOWITT of Heanor

Was amongst the mob & carried a gun. [John Fletcher]

Samuel HUNT of the Lodge South Wingfield: Farmer

Was at the murder at Hepworths as well as Daniel Hunt his servant. [T. Turner] [W. Turner]

The Wingfield party headed by the Nottingham Capt. Was at his house previous to their going to Mr. Hepworths. [Daniel Hunt] [W. Turner]

He or his servant opened the door as soon as the mob knocked at it. Some of themen asked for a draught of beer - & he gave them all bread & cheese & beer and the Nottingham man loaded his pistol at his house. [W. Turner] [E. Hall] [R. Bromley] [D. Hunt] [Isaac Ludlam Jnr]

Was with the party at Mr. Fletchers of Pentrich Mill & had a pike & J. Wilkinson heard him say the Nottingham man had shot Mr. Hepworths servant because he would not open the door or give them the gun. [Joseph Wilkinson] [H. Hole]

He carried a pike & his servant a gun. [Daniel Hunt]

Had some kind of instrument in his hand at Pentrich - & told John Storer he had given the men some bread & cheese & ale. [John Storer]

Was at John Spencers rear Pentrich Engine with the mob. [J. Spencer]

On Monday night (June 9th) about 11 o�clock he went with about 60 persons to the house Joseph Topham of Pentrich lodges at, & insisted upon his getting out of bed & falling into rank & going with them or that they would shoot him as they had done to one before he said that they were going to have a Revolution, was armed with a sword & called Captain. Was with the insurgents at Hartsay about 3 o�clock on the morning of Tuesday June 10th and Roger Wrgg of Hartsay, collier objecting to go with him said � Wragg you must go with us.� [R. Wragg]

Went with them to George Argills, whose man & gun were demanded, the latter was delivered to Turner & the man joined them. [John Bonsall]

He was very active at Peter Coupes & in front of the party & as soon as he got into Coupe yard, he fired his pistol into the air & went & gave 3 loud knocks at the door & demanded his arms & his man. [John Bonsall]

Peter Coupe of Hartsay, Farmer between 3 & 4 o�clock on Tuesday morning was awoke by some persons knocking at his door & on his arms being demanded he delivered his gun to a stout man in a blue smock frock who he believes to be Samuel Hunt of Wingfield Lodge Farmer. [Peter Coupe]

Was at Mr. George Argills of Hartsay about 3 o�clock on the Tuesday morning of Tuesday June 10th & said to Charles Walters (Mr. Argills Servant) who was forced by the insurgents to go with them �don�t be against going my lad, there is better men than you going, I am going myself and leaving a property behind me.� [Charles Walters]

On Charles Walters proposing to change guns with him he said �Darn you, I shall not part with this, it is charged. I shall keep this myself, it is a little handy one.� This was the gun that he received from Peter Coupe. [Charles Walters]

He was observed to be in the party that passed by Ripley carrying a pike. [J. Topham] [W. Young]

He threw a large stone at Mr. Wheatcrofts door by the direction of the Nottingham Capt & broke it to pieces. [J. Wilkinson]
